That's why Roo & You produces the most rigorously tested, safest play couch and modular foam furniture on the market. 

However, we recognize not all testing is equal. With so many families entrusting us with their children, money, and time, we knew our Joey collection had to be put through the paces and provide a safe, quality play couch.

But this isn't the end for us. We have made a commitment to ensure that our products are tested annually and to continually find new certifications to provide comfort to parents who entrust us with their families.

Below you can find each of our certifications and a brief explanation of what they have certified. In the end, our certifications show that our products are...

Foam Certifications

Greenguard Gold Certified

According to Greenguard, "Products that have achieved GREENGUARD Certification are scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards, helping to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure."

Certi-PUR US^® 

According to CertiPUR-US^® , "The CertiPUR-US^® program was developed to provide the comfort and confidence of knowing the flexible polyurethane foam meets standards for content, emissions and durability and are analyzed by independent, accredited laboratories."

This means our Joey play couch and products are: 

• Made without ozone depleters
• Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants
• Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
• Made without formaldehyde
• Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
• Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

Intertek

Intertek is widely considered the best and most meticulous quality assurance providers in the world. According to Intertek, "For more than 130 years, companies around the world have depended on Intertek to help ensure the quality and safety of their products, processes and systems."

Non-Foam Certifications

Parent Tested, Parent Approved (PTPA)

To earn the PTPA Trust Mark, Roo & You was tested by fifteen (15) randomly selected, anonymous parents who then provide feedback after six (6) weeks. After the test, Roo & You scored a perfect 100% across all testers.

Intertek

In addition to Intertek testing our foam, they thoroughly and meticulously test our covers. Intertek ensures that our covers (fabric, zippers, and all other parts) are test for lead, phthalates, flame retardants, various heavy metals and hazardous organic compounds, and emissions.
